Two Receipts, One Image. They Were Supposed to Scan Separately.

I scan receipts so I can look back and see what I spent. Kimiko, my nickname for ChatGPT, helps me name the files.

The scanner’s feed slot is about as wide as a sheet of A4 paper. The manual showed how to put a second receipt into the free side while the first was still scanning. I figured I could keep feeding receipts without waiting and still get a separate image for each one.

So I slipped in a second receipt on the free side while the first was still going through. Two receipts, two images. Or so I thought. I looked at the screen and found two receipts from different stores sharing one image.

This time, they hadn’t separated the way I expected. I don’t know what made the difference.

Now which store do I name the file after? I shopped at two different places, and somehow their receipts wound up sharing a table.
