The auditor had previously led an organization whose core system ran on AS/400. He understood both the platform and the operational controls protecting it.
The closing review explained the auditor’s instant reaction. Before becoming an auditor, he had been a senior leader in a company that used IBM AS/400 as its core platform.
He understood its security, resilience during power problems, and strength against hardware and system failures—the qualities needed for work that must not stop.

- Power protection: an emergency generator and automatic transfer equipment.
- Earthquake protection: an ISO-BASE isolation system.
- Intrusion protection: an electronic lock limited to system administrators.
